Zara Larsson

Sweden

The Swedish pop diva stepped into the spotlight at the age of ten when she sang the hit My Heart Will Go On in a talent contest in 2008. Her early success was the foundation for Zara Larsson's later career. This was definitely kick-started with her third album and international debut So Good. Singles such as Lush Life, Never Forget You and Ain't My Fault reached the top of the international music charts for a reason. Larsson's piercing vocals, which give goosebumps due to her wide vocal range and emotive delivery, have made the young singer-songwriter a driving force in contemporary pop music.

Outside of her music career, during which she has co-written a song for the World Cup, performed at the Nobel Peace Prize concert and collaborated with producers such as David Guetta, Kygo and rapper Tyga, Larsson is not shy about speaking out about the pressing social issues of our time. As an advocate for feminism, the legalization of LGBTQ+ rights, and a promoter of mental illness awareness and STD protection, Larsson has won praise from audiences for her activism and providing a healthy role model for younger generations.

Larsson is certainly not slowing down in continually pushing her creative boundaries. On her third album, 2021's Poster Girl, she explores themes of empowerment and personal growth, oscillating between catchy pop and heartfelt ballads. On her latest release, Venus hasn't abandoned familiar themes, taking inspiration from the Roman goddess of the same name as a metaphor for love that runs throughout her work.
