History of the festival
Colours of Ostrava is a multi-genre international music festival held each year in Ostrava. Since 2012 it has been held in the breathtaking surroundings of Dolní Vítkovice – the site of former blast furnaces, mines and ironworks. The first festival took place in 2002. Colours of Ostrava scooped up the Czech Angel (Anděl) award in 2005 and 2006. For three consecutive years in 2004, 2005 and 2006, it also picked up best music event of the year at the Akropolis Live Awards (ALMA) in the concert/festival of the year category.
A whole host of stars have flocked to perform in Ostrava over the festival’s history. Check out our Colourspedia page which lists all of the artists who have ever performed at Colours of Ostrava.
