Sofi Tukker

USA

Could it be that they were inspired by Jon Marianek's instant hit? Or are the whole country fans of Pech? Shumava, toasted, rye, baguette, or prefer sourdough? This bread by Sofi Tukker definitely has a Brazilian base.

This is evident both in the Portuguese lyrics and in the Latin American rhythm. And although the bread has a dense and strong taste, it is also suitable for athletes. The recipe is based on a German base and American ingredients. Its origins date back to 2014, when Sophie Hawley-Weld (Sofi) and Tucker Halpern (Tukker) met at Brown University.

The first recording came two years later. An EP called Soft Animals garnered early success and the single Drinkee earned a nomination for Best Dance Recording at the 2017 Grammys. Gradually, other tracks made their way to the label, appearing on the albums Treehouse and Wet Tennis and the EP Dancing On The People. Commercials, video games or TV shows - everyone wants Sofi Tukker! A duo that can be both playful and serious with their work, worldly and intimate for a private dance in the living room. What they never lack, however, is energy, sass and originality. This one screams for a proper romp, a real bread summer.
