Born on the small island of Guernsey into a Portuguese family, Nessi Gomes blends the essence of traditional Fado music with British progressive and modern influences.
In his 2016 debut album Diamonds & Demons, he tells stories of darkness and light and inspires deeper exploration of the human soul, psyche, collective fears and torment. The album was recorded following a successful fundraising campaign in April 2015, which raised over $50,000. Nessi toured relentlessly in the wake of the campaign, including sets at major festivals across Europe. Tracks such as These Walls and All Related have reached tens of millions of listens on all streaming platforms, and even in these songs the musician reveals an authentic and heartfelt search for light, depth, hope and truth. Her work obliquely references her own hardships, resonating with the likes of Björk and Kate Bush and mixing Portuguese influences with hints of hope and horror.
