Hana Štverková, Marek Navrátil: A four day working week - our future?

Five days, a minimum of 40 hours at work? In some sectors of the economy, this may not be the case. The concept of a four-day work week was already gaining popularity before the pandemic, but it is a bold idea with its pitfalls. The pandemic lasting more than a year and the changes it has brought with it, new practices – in the economy and in the labour market. So a four-day working week is not so unrealistic, although.... Where would a four-day working week work, what challenges and threats does it bring and is it a solution for the next generation?

Hana Štverková, Head of the Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Economics. “Nothing is impossible...“ Her wish and effort is to connect the academic field with the private sphere and industry both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Marek Navrátil, HR Advisory head # Executive Search Consultant for Human Capital Advisory. PhD in psychology at Masaryk University, MBA at Nottingham Trent University. He started his career at the Psychological Institute of the Academy of Sciences, where he researched the impact of computers and new technologies on humans and also the Flow phenomenon. He defended his doctoral thesis in the field of emotion detection, examining dozens of convictions for violent crime on a polygraph. In managerial positions he worked as a personnel manager, personnel director and is currently engaged in HR consulting and executive search. As a headhunter he specializes in top management positions mainly in manufacturing companies, sales, IT and startups. Marek is an expert on the topic of succession in Czech companies and agile methodology. He regularly publishes, lives and works in Prague.
