Colours Without Barriers

Don't let disability get in the way of enjoying your festival experience to the full znevýhodněním

We offer a superior standard of service for disabled and visually impaired visitors.

After a two-year gap, we are once again looking forward to welcoming disabled visitors! This year, as always, we want to offer them an above-standard service, which makes our festival unique even in this regard. As part of the Colours Without Barriers project, which we are organising with our project partner Česká pošta (Czech Post), we strive to facilitate the stay of these visitors, so that they can enjoy the music and other parts of the festival programme in the wheelchair-accessible area of Dolní Vítkovice without having to worry about a thing. We believe that this project will help us welcome more disabled visitors than ever before, and not only from the Czech Republic, but also from abroad.

One of the new features this year are services for autistic visitors. For better communication, we have also created the new Colours Without Barriers Facebook group, where we will not only post all the important information but also interesting facts about our project.

For several years, our standard service has included discounted ticket prices for ZTP (severe disability) and ZTP/P (severe disability requiring a guide) card holders, free admission for the persons accompanying ZTP/P card holders, special grandstands, wheelchair-accessible transport within the city of Ostrava, or for instance the option of booking a trained assistant.

We arrange wheelchair-accessible accommodation for disabled visitors at hotels in Ostrava according to availability.  We also offer these visitors the opportunity to book a place in the festival tent city, including a parking space. It is also possible to book a parking space directly at the entrance to the main festival site.

For visually impaired visitors, we have once again prepared a practical guidebook about the project in Braille with a tactile plan of the site and a special 3D tactile model of the Gong Auditorium.

Visitors with hearing impairments can enjoy selected lectures of the Meltingpot Forum discussion interpreted in sign language. Even selected concerts of Czech and foreign bands will be interpreted.

To improve the comfort of our disabled visitors, we have concentrated all important services in one place at the main entrance to the festival site. At this location, you will find an Info Point and the Colours Without Barriers ticket office, a wheelchair-accessible taxi rank and a car park reserved exclusively for disabled visitors, including those requiring a guide.

Our contact e-mail address bezbarier@colours.cz is available all year round, and our phone line (+420) 731 932 768 will be available from 15 May 2022 onward. Contact us to find out all essential information about the project and to book the services described below.

The partner of the Colours Without Barriers project is Česká pošta, a. s.
