Justice

France

"Because WE-ARE-YOUR-FRIENDS," they proclaim in their first hit Justice. A remix of a Simian track shot the pair to the forefront of the electronic scene more than 20 years ago, far beyond their native France. But it wasn't until 2005 that the first official single was released, already under the Ed Banger label. What was hinted at with the first released recordings was confirmed with the eponymous debut, often referred to as Cross because of the cross symbol on the cover. After the iconic sound that forms the basis of Justice to this day was unleashed, more recordings followed. Both the studio albums Audio, Video, Disco. and Woman, as well as recordings of live performances.

Even the Czech fan base had to forgive this without crossing the border. Until the summer of 2017, when Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé arrived with their well-loaded trucks for the Colours of Ostrava. And now they are returning to the festival! With the new album Hyperdrama. On it, the musicians have brought in several guest singers, and just as Daft Punk recorded their Random Access Memories, Justice now has tracks with Tame Impala, Thundercat, Miguel and Connan Mockasin. But audio has always been only half the battle with this duo. Video is also an integral part of the Justice show. Then finally, there's Disco. We believe that Justice has not been abandoned by Achjo Bitch, who once declared on the blog 1000 Things That Piss Me Off, "And the next time I get a hankering for Justice, I'm going to the Justice Department for free. The experience will be at least comparable, if not better." Justice for All!
