Iggy Pop

USA

Six decades on the scene and he's still got it. Both in the studio and on stage. This is definitely not "Grandpa, tell me...", this is punk.

Contemporary work may not go for the grit in sound and intensity, but Pop remains relevant in the 21st century. Whether it's his "ambient" album Free, on which he needed to calm down after the intense touring for Post Pop Depression, or his latest, his nineteenth studio solo record Every Loser. On it, Iggy Pop teamed up with producer Andrew Wyatt, an award-winning writer who has worked with musicians such as Miley Cyrus, Liam Gallagher, Mark Ronson and Dua Lipa. The album was released under Wyatt's newly formed Gold Tooth label.

The godfather of punk will return to the Colours of Ostrava scene after fifteen years. In 2010, together with The Stooges, he immediately won the audience over to his side. A dozen lucky people even had the honour of sharing the stage with the master and his bandmates for a moment. And the Ostrava festival is also honoured, because hosting an icon who, alongside John Cale or David Bowie, has made musical history and shaped several generations of musicians is an event, whether Iggy is 63 or 78. Whether you've seen the master live or only know him from Jarmusch films or Star Trek. Or maybe you remember the great guitarist Ivan Krale, who had the privilege of playing with Iggy. Or maybe this will be your first meeting. It's never too late to start with good music. Lust for Life.
