Kalandra is an alternative Nordic pop band spearheaded by three Norwegian musicians (Jogeir Daae Mæland, Katrine Stenbekk and Florian Döderlein Winter) weaving ethereal melodies into raw and eerie musical landscapes.
2019 proved to be an exciting year for Kalandra; from stumbling onto the filmset of the HBO Nordic series ‘Beforeigners’, composing two soundtracks for the series, releasing their own single ‘The Waiting Game’, and producing an ambitious music video a thousand meters above sea level. Their cover of ‘Helvegen’ by Wardruna, has amassed over a million views on YouTube, and in December 2019 they went on tour as special guest for the renowned Norwegian goth-rock band, Seigmen. After «balancing rocks» as band members for almost a decade, 2020 looks to be the year from which we can all enjoy the fruits of their labor with a debut album right around the corner.
